Sweet Strawberry Party Inspiration

In Florida, we are already in the middle of strawberry season—one of my favorite times of year! I look forward to the day every year that Plant City, FL strawberries start showing up in the farmers market—they are the biggest, sweetest, juiciest strawberries you’ve ever had. But I’m betting your state has its own version of Plant City. I like to serve mine with some balsamic vinegar and a twist of black pepper if it’s just me or with a tiny bowl of powdered sugar for my kids, just like my Grandmother did.

Sweet red strawberries are a perfect spring and summertime theme for little parties. Menus, colors and theme can all be planned around the not-so-humble strawberry. A few ideas to complete a super-cute strawberry-themed party: cut out strawberry shapes and string with ribbon for some adorable bunting; send ribbon-wrapped pints of strawberries home as favors with your guests or fill the green pint baskets with other sweet treats; use whole strawberry plants as centerpieces; and have a build-your-own strawberry shortcake bar.
