Chandelier Passion: From Fixture to Floor

One of the frequent requests we receive for girls’ rooms is to incorporate a chandelier into the mood board.  At times when we’re constrained by low ceilings or small spaces, we have realized that this requested chandelier can be more than the conventionally hung ceiling fixture.

These days the traditional iconic chandelier is utilized in a variety of mediums and design elements: from ceiling light to sconces, mobiles, decals or rugs, here are some examples of how you can decorate your nursery with that romantic touch.

If you cannot find an original vintage chandelier at your local flea market or antique shop, Rachel Ashwell offers a great selection in perfect style.

For an alternative to the hanging versions use a smaller fixture like this beautiful sconce from Candice Olson.

Very successful is this silhouette chandelier mobile from Ige Design, inspired by nineteenth century silhouettes and glass blowing artisans. It is laser cut from paper and it comes in ivory or black.

We are also fond of these sweet decorative pendants from Pottery Barns Kids that recall real chandeliers. Although they are just decorative and don’t provide lighting, they still make a statement.

Vinyl decals are a great solution since they are economical, non-permanent and can come in a variety of colors. We adore this one from Holly on Etsy.

Last but not least, this romantic and very soft rug from CB2. In gray and white it can really add a special and modern touch to the nursery.

Those Pottery Barns decorative pendants will do. They’re cute and they’d be lovely accents to a room. I don’t mind them not having the lighting function.

not really very fond of very ornate chandeliers, like those with too many crystals and swirly details.so those pottery barn pendants are just charming.
