High vs. Low: Needlepoint Initial Pillows

Jonathan Adler Initial Pillow

I run a series on my blog called high vs. low, and readers love seeing how you can get the look of a higher priced item for less. I thought Project Nursery’s readers would be especially interested in this one—gorgeous personalized Jonathan Adler custom needlepoint pillows. A friend of mine gave one to my son for his birthday (pictured above). Yes, these pillows are beautiful and can be personalized in an assortment of colors, styles and now sizes, but with prices starting at $125 a pop, that might be breaking the bank for some people (plus, the lead time is three months).

If light pink or light blue works for you, they also have small junior pillows in the 9″ x 12″ size for $98 and 16″ x 16″ black and white available in all the letters of the alphabet.

As an alternative, PB Teen has added needlepoint pillows to their accessories collection. These pillows are 10″ x 10″ and will only set you back $29 each. Although they are only available in white and black, these colors can work in almost any modern decor.

Now if you want something with a softer look, Pottery Barn Kids has introduced an ABC Decorative Embroidered Pillow, which conveniently fits across the lumbar section of a glider. I saw this in person at the store the other day, and it is adorable. The size is 10″ x 20″, and it is available for $39.50.

The black and white pillows are so lovely! They’d be great in grown-ups’ rooms.

First of all, I love your blog. Not only because I’m a mom myself but I’m also into fashion and interior design. You do have a good selection of items featured in here. No one would think that these are sold at a fraction of a cost. Great subject!
