Serena & Lily Nursery Style Event

Last week the lovely team at Serena & Lily held a Nursery Style 101 Event at their headquarters in Sausalito, CA. I have to say that being a San Francisco based blogger I was thrilled to have the opportunity to attend a local nursery design event for designers and soon to be local moms. It was a privilege to catch a sneak peak at all the newest S&L products, meet the designers and hear about all the exciting things they have on tap for the year.

If you haven’t already noticed Serena & Lily recently launched a new look complete with a sleek new logo, iPad app and lots of new additions to their bedding and nursery collections. I enjoyed browsing the showroom where I could touch and feel the baby bedding collections like the new Lola and Leo. I was also smitten with the Marabelle dress for baby and the entire line of Pink Chicken baby clothes they just began to carry.

A highlight of the night was getting to know Lily Kanter, as in the Lily behind the Serena & Lily dynamic duo. She is not only lovely and interesting but filled with great advice for parenting boys! Lily juggles raising her own three boys while running a hugely successful business. I always love meeting women who are able to balance work and family life so well – such an inspiration! Lily gave me a tour of where all the magic happens; the backroom workspace at S&L and I even got a first look at some of the adorable layette they are soon launching with Hannah Anderson.

A couple of products I was most excited to check out were the Havana stools and the upholstered Octavia bed. The stools would be so cool in a global chic playroom and the headboards already have me designing for when my two girls move into a bedroom together. It’s a little far off but Melisa and I both believe that with just one piece as inspiration you can create a pulled together design for the entire room.

We look forward to sharing with you more events and news from Serena & Lily. And with these two women traveling the globe (think India, Africa and Indonesia) in search of amazing pieces and inspiration, we are sure to see exciting new collections from the line soon. Thanks for a great event!

Great piece! I love the fact that they are local too, since I am from the Bay Area as well. Will check their site out and support them. Love that blanket on the chair!

The Lola and Leo beddings are so pretty and lovely. The Pink Chicken baby clothes also look too cute and sweet for words! Must. Go. To. Serena. And. Lily. now.

What are those weaved baskets made of and where do they come from? They look like something from Africa or Asia. Really interesting.

I will check in with my contacts at S&L to see if any other events have been planned. You also might want to sign up to receive their weekly emails for more info. – P
