Black Kite Takes Flight

Summer BBQ’s are fast approaching and just because you won’t be in the Hamptons or on the Vineyard doesn’t mean you can’t get your little man in on some preppy threads. Black Kite has brought the fun back to shirts for boys. They believe bold shirts make confident boys.

Denver based designer Lindsay Black Mangat created Black Kite shirts for boys to inspire boys to express their creativity, individuality and their confidence, ultimately allowing their character to “Take Flight.” Handmade with limited run, brightly colored, 100% cotton woven fabrics, each shirt is created with contrasting thread and a unique pocket note that holds a secret message of inspiration that your boy can wear close to his chest.

The premiere collection comes in sizes 1-7 years and is designed in four different styles: long sleeve, short sleeve, roll sleeve with button tabs, and long sleeve with a Nehru collar.  Described as anything from whimsical, dandy, contemporary and global, each fabric is given a fetching name that represents a strong individual – “The Big Cheese,”  “King of the Jungle,” “Alpha Male,” and “Don Juan”  to name a few.  All styles retail for $45 online at www.blackkiteshop.com.

Cute shirts! It’s nice that Black Kite is bringing back fun prints for the boys. Many think that boys ought to be dressed in plain colors, but it’s really nice to dress them in prints.

You are right. Shirts like these look a lot of fun to wear for boys. Time to say goodbye to those boring plain color clothes for the little men. I also agree that starting them young and training them to be comfortable about wearing fun prints — like this floral printed shirt above — would help in boosting their confidence in the long run, especially about their masculinity.
