After 8 years of trying, uncluding a surgery for my husband, and two IVF procedures for me, we are finally expecting our miracle in April! We are so excited. I deserve to win because… I’m a brand new, first time mom, who NEVER expected to have a baby. I knew nothing about babies at all, so this has been a huuuge learning experience for me, and a big life transformation!! Plus, I’ve always worked in retail management, lots of overtime, just go go go. After my maternity leave, my employer decided not to work with me on a reduced schedule, and just let me go!!
If you had told me a year ago that in 2010 I would turn 30, and be an unemployed single mom, trying to finish college, I would have laughed. After several complications and scares with my pregnancy while being on pelvic rest at home, I ended up having to spend over a month at the hospital on bed rest and had my baby via c-section 3 weeks early. Since everything happened so unexpectedly, I wasn’t able to have a baby shower or go out and purchase what I needed before the baby arrived. Now that I have a huge hospital bill, a lot of purchasing is having to be delayed. Winning this would be such a huge blessing!

My husband and I are expecting our first baby April 12th. Over the past year and a half we’ve experienced a miscarriage and a permanent lay-off. Wow, what a generous giveaway! I’m expecting – the baby is due May 1. This is our first baby, the first grandchild for all 4 grandparents and the first great-grandchild on my side of the family. We had difficulty conceiving and I am thankful every day for this miracle! We find out in 12 days if it’s a boy or a girl and I haven’t even thought about the holidays one bit – December 15 is the only date I care about right now, I can’t wait to find out!

I hate tooting my own horn or even asking for things. I always feel so rude. No one stepped up to the plate to throw me a baby shower for either of my boys. I have a 2.5 yr old & a 2 month old. I felt really sad about it for the longest time. On top of it all my husband is a trucker and he’s only home Sat/Sun.. makes it difficult right now to get out and get things/do things. Ok….so I would love to win this Baby Shower for myself, and share it with my sister in-law who is due in June. My 3rd baby was born on Labor Day and he is 3 months old and is also the only boy. I need to win this because I try so hard to support my children but I have little means to do so. I am a victim of an abusice boyfriend and Ive been left to care for two small children and Im having my baby girl Dec.20th. Just over 2 yrs ago my husband lost his automotive job. Going from a great income to nothing and not having any luck finding a new position had taken its toll on our fam. With the suprise arrival of our third baby life was about to get so much harder. My husband had to take a very low paying job and now works 6 days a week to keep us afloat. We are adopting a baby from Ethiopia. After struggling with miscarriages and other forms of infertility for a couple of years, we finally feel that we have the greatest gift in the world coming to us! We are so blessed and cannot wait for this little one to finally be ours.

This year has been the best and worst year of my life. I lost someone very close to me and I miss her more everyday. I have also been given the greatest blessing of my life. My husband and I are expecting our first baby girl on January 2nd, 2011and we couldn’t be happier or more excited! Life works in mysterious ways. My friend Sherry is the most unusual and unelievable person I have ever met. She is profoundly deaf but you would never guess- she graduated from an Ivy League college, became an RN, is a wonderful wife and mother, and the most devoted, generous and caring friend. She is the first person waiting at your door with a basket of homegrown vegetables when you move into the neighborhood, she’ll handkit a beautiful hat for your newborn, and will help you in any way possible. This summer she gave me the most generous gift I have ever received- she watched my 2 year old rabunctious twins HAPPILY for 2 weeks so I can go on a much needed vacation. Not only did she refuse to take payment, she gave my kids the best time that they didn’t want to leave! AND only after Ii came back did she tell me she was in her first trimester of pregnancy- imagine running after toddler twins when all you want to do is crawl back in bed and vomit!! Well this new addition of hers is coming in March and if there is ANYTHING I can possibly do for her I would love to. This is going to be Sherry’s 4th child and I know that for her last 3 kids she has been using items that she used a a child or hand-me-downs from friends. She would never spend money on extras for herself since she is so generous and giving to others but now I would like her to get some nice things back.

I am entering for myself because we have a 3 month old baby girl and have gone through a lot this year. I left my FT job in Florida to relocate to NYC, get married and become a SAHM. This happened all within a year. The shock of the move is devestating enough with the climate change and the culture change. I used to jump in my car and go and now I have to consider weather, traffic, parking with a baby. I left all my friends and family behind and it is difficult to make friends while being in the house. It is also difficult to go shopping especially for the holidays much less for weekly supplies. This prize would not only be a financial boost, but also an emotional celebration.

My daughter, Kristin, and her husband, Nick are expecting their first baby in March. They are a wonderful couple and both work very hard at their jobs. They were so excited to be pregnant. It would be such a special treat for me to win them this beautiful set for their new little girl, Mila’s room. She will be born in March and the pregnancy has not been without its difficulties. Kristin is a high risk pregnancy and will have to undergo surgery to remove a part of the placenta after the birth. But she is so happy and has done everything possible to insure that Mila has a safe birth. Her dad and I are very proud of them and how they have handled this difficult pregnancy.

I would love to win this because we are expecting a baby in January, and this is the 2nd baby in 12 months for us. I have been dealing with 2 high risk pregnancies back to back, and have been on bedrest. Being a 1 income family, things have been very tight….We can’t even afford to get the kids anything for the holidays or gifts for my daughter’s 1st birthday, let alone gear for the baby on the way. This would be such a blessing, and whatever I didn’t need, I would pass along to a friend who is a single mom and is struggling to make ends meet herself!

This virtual shower is an awesome giveaway! My husband and I are expecting our first baby in May. After 2 surgeries and being told that my chances that my having a baby were low, God has seen fit to bless us with our own little one. This gift would be such a huge blessing to my husband and I. I lost my job as a mortgage loan officer in Dec 2008 when the market crashed and was able to get another job immediately in another field only to be laid off again in March of this year. I am currently unemployed. Although I receive unemployment my husband is carrying most of the load. We would really appreaciate this gift and be able to utilize all of the items. I’m entering this contest for my very best friend of 30 years. We met each other in Kindergarden, cheered together, told each other about our first kisses, got into trouble together (we stole her fathers car at 14,), graduated high school together, we in each others weddings and now she is pregnant with her first child. My son and his girlfriend are going to have a baby on April 7th 2011. He is having a very hard time finding a job and she is only working part time at a Doctors office on $9/hr. They can barely pay bills now. I am so worried he will not have a job by April and she will have to be off work after the baby comes, then when she goes back to work she won’t have money for daycare. They could really use this as a great start with the baby.

Wow, this would be a dream to win. Everyone here has a story and what a tough choice you have. In short, I was trying to have a baby via invitro the doctor made a mistake and I became septic, almost died and had a forced hystyrectomy. I was on sick leave for 12 weeks and went back to work and was laid off. Thankfully I survived it all and am now completing an adoption after 5 years as a single parent.

I recently moved away from home and now live in a remote area in Alaska! My family threw me a lovely virtual shower but I only received gifts from 3 out of 30 people! It was very nice that everyone participated and sent back packets that my sister had sent out but it would of been nice if they included gifts. I know that baby showers aren’t about the gifts and more about me sharing with my loved ones how excited and happy I am for the blessing that is coming in January but it helps so much when you do get gifts. These products look lovely and I would love for our baby to rock the prizes! This would help out a lot and we would really appreciate the help! Thanks for the chance.

I’m due in 3 weeks my first baby! It’s a boy! And since my husband is serving in the US military we are not rolling around in dough. It has been really difficult and now with baby #3 coming two months before I was to graduate, it put graduation off a year… putting more stress on my hubby who has been our only income.

My husband and I are about to have our 3rd baby. About 2 months before we found out we were expecting we donated all of our baby items, and I mean everything from our crib bedding to our baby carrier. He is in the military and will be gone alot in the next 2 years due to training. My wife and I are having our third kid and this will be the first child that I have been around for. I have been deployed to Iraq in 07-08 (1st child’s birth) and 09-10 (2nd child’s birth). My best friend deserves to win this give away. She has tried for over two years to conceive and keep a baby. While most of her friends have gotten pregnant (some of them twice – in the time she has been trying) she has undergone multiple losses, numerous tests, strains on her finances and marriage before finally getting diagnosed and treated for a blood disorder. She has become pregnant and now is 12 weeks along in her pregnancy, the furthest she’s ever been. Although she has to give herself shots in the stomach everyday while she is pregnant – she still is so thankful. Since she has gone through so much it’s been hard for her to connect with the baby, talk about it, or give herself permission to risk getting excited again. This shower give away would help her feel more like a mom. It would give her time to forget for a minute the pain she has gone through and remind her that she can stop worrying about not getting to meet this baby but now can start worrying about decorating a nursery. She’s going to make an amazing mother.

I’d love to pay it forward and enter for my expecting friend, but I’m entering for me. I don’t know if I really “deserve” to win – I’ve been so blessed already this year with the birth of our baby girl, positive EEG results and hopefully more good news to come – but as we are in the early months of expecting our second child, I think something like this will help me realize the pregnancy is “real” (I have very few symptoms) and hopefully will give it good vibes to continue thriving. Well, I can’t say that I “deserve” to win more than anyone else. It has been a rollercoaster (emotionally) for the last few months, but what always puts a smile on my face and warmth in my heart is the absolute angel that has been brought into our lives and I LOVE to “shower” him with lots of goodies! I have a newborn and a toddler and the tiny space we have for them both has no sense of playfulness. I would love to be able to give them a space with color that they can call their own. We just got our ‘surprise’ baby – right after we sold all our baby stuff!!! Poor little number three is desperately in need of … well… EVERYTHING! One thing he has got is a Mutsy pram, we love it. We’re working on getting a cot and all the other requirements :) Until then, he’s learning about making do!

I deserve to win this prize because I am going through a really rough patch in my life right now. My baby boy is due in 2 weeks. I just went on maternity leave with no pay. My fiance is unemployed and right now our income is just over $200 a month. I haven’t been able to make my house payment so I am going into foreclosure and our lights will be cut off soon. My father is in the hospital and if he gets to come home I will have to care for him as well because my mother is disable. My vehicle needs work done on it as well but no funds to do so. I could go on forever with all the drama that is going on in my life. I just want to make a comfortable life for my first child but it is far from that. We hosted a baby shower however we did not receive much because most of my family is poor as well. This would help us out greatly and we would appreciate anything that we received.

I would love win this virtual baby shower and share the gifts with the WONDERFUL ladies I have bonded with over the last 8 months on my Feb 2011 baby birth board. I created a Facebook group for us and everyone has been so incredibly supportive- especially as some moms like myself lost a twin along the way, had various complications, had little ones come early and so forth.
