One of our most recent uploads to the Project Gallery is this Nursery by Tracy Davis of Urban Dwellings. The cowhide rug against the bright pine floors really pops. Let’s take a look at how PN readers are displaying their animal print rugs.
Quinlan’s Room features a rug from ABC Carpets. The designer wanted something different from the traditional girl’s room.
A modern spin on cowhide is this colorful Jonathan Adler rug featured in this colorful Go Bold Nursery.
What’s your take on cowhide and faux animal skin? Let us know by commenting below. As always, we encourage you to share your child’s room designs in our Project Gallery.

I’m not 100% a fan of dead animals on my floor. That said, I do think they they LOOK great and add a bit of sophistication! Maybe in faux? I do love the orange and white one — adds such a great pop to the room.

I love PN but I agree, I am not a fan of dead animals on the floor when I am teaching him about live animals in his books. These are gorgeous rooms without the rugs, I don’t understand why they are necessary. Plus they feel gross under the feet (always felt like unwashed hair to me!), I like my son – and me – to have something soft to sit on. I think the faux orange and white one is better if you MUST go that direction.

I was never really a fan of animal prints, much more animal rugs. But every time I see something really furry and fluffy on other people’s floors, I can’t help but want to touch it and lie down and snuggle. Lol.

I LOVE the Jonathan Adler zebra rug!!!! I’m not pregnant yet, but have already been thinking about that rug for a nursery!

Same here, Teresa. The only type of animal fur I’d like on my floor is faux polar bear fur. Furry white is just so inviting.
