Trend Alert: Monograms

We’ve recently noticed that monograms are everywhere in the world of nursery design.  Could it be that their classic appeal is universally exciting?  Maybe it’s just the newest perfect way to customize a nursery.  Whatever it is, we love it!

This fall, we designed a nursery for a client who loved monograms.  We found a great resource for monogram design: Wee Monograms (who, completely by coincidence, recently posted a Project Nursery giveaway – whoever won that is super lucky!). So, it seemed like fate – we have to write about this huge monogram trend…

Take the above room which we posted on Project Nursery several weeks ago.  The monogram turned out so well that we still haven’t stopped getting emails about it!  For starters, Wee Monograms created the digital monogram file, and then we had it custom laser cut out of MDF (a wood composite) and painted to match the room.  But here’s a little secret:  we took that same monogram file and used it to embroider the changing pad covers, glider pillow and blanket!

We’ve also seen some great options for use of monograms all over the web.  Take this one from Posh Tots – how cute and simple!

If you’re short on time, there are tons of cool things you can buy that are already monogrammed.  Check out this amazing Monogrammed Armoire by Bratt Decor and the Palm Beach Collection by Sterling Anabella!

When working with monograms, keep in mind that the possibilities are endless.  These days a computer file can be turned into anything!

I love monograms too. I think they are great for all ages, but add a special touch in a babies’ nursery. Nursery monograms are my 2nd biggest seller right now.

Once I started a line of personalized/custom keepsake prints, it only seemed natural to venture into personalized stationery. I started with monogrammed cards and am hoping to expand into monogrammed prints. This post is like a “sign” that I absolutely need to get on it!!

I love your monogram idea. What I love even more is pink wallpaper. Can you please tell where you purchased the wallpaper for the pink monogram wall?

Yes, I would also like to know where you can purchase this pink damask wallpaper. Also, if wallpaper is not an option, what are other things that you can do? Fabric on walls? Have you ever tried it?
