Design Reveal: The Three Cs

Mom Brooke developed her own mantra while designing her baby’s nursery – the 3 C’s:  Clean, Calm and Comfortable. We like to refer to this nursery design as Chic, Clutter-free and the best C of them all, Cost-Effective. Our favorite element? The cabinets that flank the sides of the crib. Now that’s Clever design!

Child’s name: Wills
Age: due in 4 weeks
Location: New Orleans, LA

What was your inspiration for the room?
Theme: Elephants! I was inspired by a number of blogs I visited. I took a few ideas from these blogs and then incorporated my own style and look. I tried to keep it minimal and whimsical.

What best describes your decorating style?
Clean and contemporary with touch of traditional.

Please share with us your choice of paint colors, furniture, art, diy tips, etc.
Color of walls is a soft ecru. White, grey, avocado green and shades of blue were my color pallette. Changing table is a from family that we had painted. Art, mobile and banner were all found on Etsy. Bedding is from Serena and Lily. Monogrammed Sham is Leontine Linens. Rug came from FLOR.

What is your favorite item(s) in the room?
I love the monogrammed boudior because it adds such a personal touch. The elephant rocker “Elmer” is adorable. The tall cabinets are either side of the crib make the room. I also love the mobile because it is so delicate. The rug was a nice way to soften the room and make it cozy and I love how I could chose the exact dimensions I needed. The bassinet holding the stuff animals has been in my husbands family for three generations so it adds another personal touch to the room.

Is there anything else you would like PN readers to know?
You don’t have to spend a fortune on a nursery. The crib and rocking chair were both under 200.00. Adding a few nice pieces will elevate the look. And don’t feel like every spot in the room must be decorated. Calm, clean and comfortable are three words I kept repeating to myself during this process.
