All aboard for a celebration! We took a classic boys party theme and gave it a colorful twist to create a modern train party. Your little conductor will love everything about this party, from the CHOO CHOO balloons and train engine cookies to the playful train tracks. We’re excited to share some sweet details and promise everyone will want to get on board this party express!
It all starts with the invitation, and this whimsical “Birthday Train” invite from Minted features a fun, multi-colored train stacked in a modern design. The black, red, orange and aqua mix together for the best train party this side of the tracks!
We spelled out CHOO CHOO with silver foil balloons to bring the train theme to life. They make the perfect dessert table backdrop and don’t even require helium—simply blow them up and tape them to the wall. So easy! We carried the color scheme throughout all of the party details, including the tissue tassel garland, party balloons, paper goods and sweet treats.
You know we’re not shy when it comes to desserts, and this party has plenty of them! We added a red fondant engine to a white frosted cake and topped it with lots of black, red and white sprinkles and a sparkler candle!
These yummy train engine cookies are almost too adorable to eat. You can package them up in cellophane bags and send them home with guests as a sweet party favor.
We think it’s super important for any party to have a craft or activity to keep the kiddos entertained. There are many fun options for a train party. Here are few of our favorites.
Make playful train tracks on the floor. Use black electrical tape to create train tracks on the floor for a simple, inexpensive party activity. Little guests will love chugging their trains along the rails.
Set up an arts and crafts table. Let kids decorate wooden train engines or ornaments and color train pages using markers, glitter pens, stickers, crayons, etc.
Set up a photo booth. Party guests will have so much fun dressing up and acting silly in front of the camera. These are some cute, printable train photo props, and you can also have actual conductor hats, bandanas, train whistles and more that kids can use when they strike a pose. Print out the images and include with thank you notes as a party memento!
