The countdown to Baby R’s due date is winding down, and close friends and family recently gathered to celebrate the mama-to-be and her bundle of joy at Ashley Rosenbaum’s baby shower. The former Bachelorette and husband J.P. are avid travelers, so the travel theme was a natural choice for the shower, especially since Ashley is planning a travel-themed nursery too!
Ashley said, “My vision for the baby shower was to have a small, chic gathering with my closest friends and family. All too often we have events where we aren’t able to spend a significant amount of time with each guest. I wanted to be sure that I had time to sit and chat with each and every person that took time out of their lives to celebrate with us!”
Minted worked closely with Ashley and her sister Chrystie to bring her vision for the shower to life, starting with the invitations. Ashley fell in love with the Petite Rattle design, and the party decor followed the theme with buntings, table runners and a photo booth all created with items from the Petite Rattle party decor suite.
Ara Farnam from Rock Paper Scissors Events completed the styling of the event with travel-themed items that also had a playful side, like aviator rubber duckies, an aviator teddy bear, baby and toddler toy airplanes and children’s books about maps and airplanes.
When they weren’t having fun in the photo booth (which was stocked with travel-themed props, of course), guests helped create an advice-themed memory book with cute polaroids and personalized advice for Ashley and Baby R. This also happens to be one of the things from her shower that Ashley treasures the most. “My favorite memory from the shower was receiving a photo album and advice booklet that was made by my guests. Each guest took a polaroid in the photo booth and adhered it to a page in a scrapbook along with a piece of advice for us and a wish for Baby R. So cute!”
Guests also made a paper airplane mobile with envelope liners from the Petite Rattle line. To make your own version of this adorable mobile, check out the easy instructions from Minted.
When it was time to open gifts, Chrystie recorded all of the details in a personalized spiral bound notebook from Minted. And in between the oohs and aahs as Ashley opened one darling gift after another, guests played a quiz game called “Mother Knows Best, But Who Knows Ash?” The winner took home the Sea Fever limited edition art print, which Ashley also chose for Baby R’s nursery.
The shower was held in the Garden Room at the chic General Assembly Restaurant & Bar in New York City. The food included a variety of passed hors d’oeuvres, a crudité and dip station and charcuterie. Guests sipped delicious cocktails like the signature General Assembly, and Ashley enjoyed non-alcoholic Jalapeño Limeade.
For dessert, guests indulged in eclairs in flavors like cherry cheesecake, chocolate peanut butter, key lime meringue and coconut almond joy, assorted macarons and espresso brownie bites.
Jihyen Crowley of Gotham Florist designed the gorgeous flower arrangements in mercury vases for a softer, more romantic look.
Guests didn’t leave Ashley’s shower empty-handed—they were treated to amazing goodie bags from Henri Bendel that included travel-themed items.
Now that Ashley and Baby R have been showered with love, she is anxiously awaiting her son’s arrival. “I am most looking forward to spending some quiet, quality time with my little baby boy (Baby R) and my big baby boy (JP). I keep telling JP that I daydream about giving Baby R a bath, lathering him with lotion and then putting him in the cutest sleeper and rocking him to sleep! I’m not sure if it will all happen as peacefully as I imagine, but I can’t wait to find out!”
