What about Ubbi makes you most proud?
I’m most proud that in all of the products we develop, we think of parents first and foremost. We know that parents already have their plates full and that the baby world is quite overwhelming, so we want to make their lives simpler. Most diaper pails, for example, require special bags, and many parents-to-be don’t even know that. They buy a diaper pail and then have to commit to purchasing those special bags again and again—it’s expensive, and it takes time and energy, two things that parents have so little of. These diaper pails are like printers or razors. They don’t cost all that much to purchase, but then you spend more money buying the cartridges or blades. This is something we went against with the Ubbi diaper pail. We thought of the parents and wanted to offer them simplicity, convenience and peace of mind.
What can we expect from you this year?
Since the introduction of our award-winning can of steel, we have been very busy working on the development of new products, expanding our assortment of diapering and toilet training products and branching out into other categories as well. With the same approach used for the development of our Ubbi diaper pail, we have been looking at existing baby products and adding a twist of innovation and design to bring those products to the next level. We’re making them more functional, simpler and easier to use and bringing them up to the new standards held by today’s stylish and modern parents.
What is your biggest piece of advice for new parents?
The world of baby products can be very overwhelming, so my advice for parents is to look for simple products. Having children reduces time and energy, and it increases stress levels at the same time, so what parents need is products that are simple, convenient, easy to clean and easy to use.
Where do you find your inspiration?
In my own children and in my friends’ children, just by looking at them and listening to them. They are the best sources of inspiration because they don’t want to sell products or be glamorous. All they want is to be at home with mom and dad in an environment that feels safe and stress-free.
