Sara’s 3rd Birthday

Description

I waited 3 years to celebrate Sara's birthday. I wanted her to be big enough to enjoy her special day and just have a good time with her friends and family which she sure did. I hired a baby sitter who works fro gymboree and she brought home all the fun stuff, their popular parachute, bubbles, gymbo the clown and also she did face painting for the little kids. All the kids were thrilled and had a great time.

Design Inspiration

I got my inspiration from Kate spade book

I loved the hot pink and black and white strip with gold accents.

Decorating Style

Simple and elegant. With just a bit of fun playing around with hot pink and accentuating it with gold accents.

Project Details

I kept the design very simple and personal. I didn't wanted this to end up being a big huge themed party that requires trip to party city and everything party. I bought the party hats from target and dressed them up with handmade yarn poms made by me at home..Hand made tissue paper garlands, customized my kitchen island with bold black and white strip fabric from banjamin franklin..Laid the dessert table with a polka dotted fabric, The stand for the cakes was done by covering solid concrete blocks with black tissue. The gold scalloped back drop was done by cutting circles on a gift paper with the help of a friend..Added fresh flowers which of course is always a plus. A big giant picture frame sits right on top of fireplace that holds some of Sara's childhood pictures.

Favorite Items

I loved all the flower arrangements and the party hats !

Advice

Keep it simple, close to your heart..You do not have to match everything or customize every single detail..As long as you have good food for adults, fun activities for kids and just a hint of some handmade party decorations you are well on your way to a happy successful event :)
