Peony and Mint Nursery

Description

As soon as we knew we were having a baby girl I knew her nursery would have this amazing Watercolor Peony wallpaper. It is the focal point of the room with its beautiful coral and mint green flowers, butterflies and crickets.  To keep it from getting too busy we added a chair rail and painted a coordinating color below it.  The dressers and bookcase were from my own bedroom as a little girl, I just had them painted to match the trim in the room and replaced the outdated brass hardware with a more classic bronze handle. I love the classic look of an iron crib and found one that matched the dresser hardware perfectly. I love our glider and think it will be very practical for future babies as it has a versatile, traditional shape and is slipcovered for easy cleaning. The sheepskin ottoman adds a bit of fun and texture.  Custom silk curtains were the final, elegant touch!

Design Inspiration

The wallpaper sparked the whole project. I wanted something feminine but unique.  I love that the wallpaper inspires a true "garden" theme with flowers AND bugs.
