Parker’s Bright and Modern Nursery

Description

I wanted Parker's room to have a bright, modern feel - nothing too babyish and I didn't want a specific "theme". I also wanted it to have a lot of handmade touches, which it does. It's my favorite room in the house, and I can't wait until he's here and we get to actually use it!

Design Inspiration

The very first item that I acquired was the name decal above the crib. I then picked out the bright blue wall color. Each item was handpicked by me specifically to add something fun to the room. I used Project Nursery a lot for inspiration, and purchased several things from Etsy.

Decorating Style

Eclectic! I didn't want there to be a theme, I wanted it to be fun and bright and cozy for him, and I think I succeeded with that.

Project Details

Crib - Graco Lauren 4-in-1 (Walmart) Changing table/dresser - South Shore Peek-a-Boo Chevron lightswitch plate - Etsy Chevron crib skirt - Etsy Name decal - Etsy Curtains - Grayson Grommet (Target) Chair - Harmony Kid's Rocker (Amazon) Collage wall - some homemade, some Etsy

Favorite Items

That's really hard! I love the name decal, and the collage wall. I also love his sock monkey (Etsy). My favorite items have to be all the handmade items though, and things gifted to us.

Advice

Take your time. And it doesn't have to be perfect! I started out with a much different nursery in mind, but it developed into something I am extremely happy with, and I hope my son is too!
