Description
We adopted and weren't sure if we were getting a boy or a girl so I designed a gender neutral nursery!
Design Inspiration
I wanted a serene space that was calming and soft. Since we weren't sure if we were getting a boy or a girl I went with mint green on the walls so I could pop in a pink & coral if we got a girl or stick with grey & browns if we got a boy. I love gold so I popped in some gold accents and tried to keep the rest pretty organic.
Decorating Style
Transitional. Although, I love nature and always incorporate some element of nature into my designs. I also wanted this room to have a mid-century modern feel, so you'll see a nod to that design style.
Project Details
We spent a lot of money on our baby :) so we didn't have a ton to put into the nursery. All of the items were very reasonably priced!
Art Prints: Jennifer Donovan Art & Design (frames, IKEA)
Lamps: Target
Dresser: IKEA
Rug: HomeGoods
Crib: My crib from when I was as a baby
Glider: Walmart
Glider Pillow: The Blue Bird Shop (Etsy)
Window Treatments: Target
Mobile: Made it myself using this tutorial
Large Letter: Michaels (sprayed gold)
Flokati Rug/Drape: IKEA
"You Are My Sunshine" Pillow: HomeGoods
Rocking Horse: Goodwill find, refurbished
Ottoman: Old Time Pottery
Wall Color: Sherwin Williams, Lighter Mint
Favorite Items
The art prints and mobile are absolutely my two favorite elements of the room!
Advice
If you want a soft mint, definitely go with the Lighter Mint instead of Mint Condition (one step up)! I was worried the Lighter Mint would be almost white but it give the perfect shade of soft green. Mint Condition would've been way too much green for the look I was trying to achieve.
