Our daughter Nora's nursery is a classic space using a color palette of navy, coral and light gray for a preppy, girly feel.
We were inspired by the architectural detail in many board and batten projects, and wanted to create a visually interesting room using the high contrast white and navy walls.
We like classic styles, clean lines, and a cozy vibe.

We DIY'ed most of the room's elements, including making over the vintage dresser (purchased on Craigslist for $40!). We painstakingly traced, outlined and painted the quote (from Shakespeare), installed the board and batten and the crown molding, built the cloud shelves, and created a mobile out of a kit for the hot air balloons. Our generous and talented friends and family created the pillow, throw, curtains, crib skirt, and personalized canvas.
We love the Shakespeare quote, both for its beautiful font and it's lovely sentiment. We hope to raise our daughter with a knowledge of her own strength and self-worth.
What color are your walls?
Love the hot air balloon mobile. I’d prefer them in bright colors though.
