Noah’s navy blue and white nursery

Description

We wanted to make the nursery a place cheerful room full of love for our Mr. Noah. We were on a relatively tight budget, so a lot of DIY and TLC went into many of the decor items (sewing stripes on the Ikea curtains, making a bedskirt {not pictured}, a homemade mobile over the changing table, DIY art over the crib, sewing a fabric bunting for over the closet...). The result is a room we are happy to call Noah's!

Design Inspiration

The walls were already gray in the room that was to become the nursery, so I decided to work with that. I knew that I wanted to nursery to be mainly navy blue and white. I also loved owls but didn't want to overdo the owl theme. Keeping the decor classic allows the room to grow up with our little guy, making the transition from nursery to big boy room a simple one.

Decorating Style

My decorating style is mainly classic contemporary. I like clean lines and a neutral color palette, adding in some fun elements for visual interest.

Favorite Items

My favorite items are the curtains - they make a statement and anchor the color palette. I also love the yellow chevron owl pillow. It cheers up the space and adds a nice pop of color!

Advice

Browse around to see what rooms appeal to you, then look for common themes in your favorite spaces. Is there a certain color crib, a color palette, prints or patterns, etc. that you're jonesing for? Start there and run with it!
