The moment we found out we were expecting our second girl we were undecided about the room situation, we first thought our two daughters (16 months apart ) would share a room and have the “other” room (which was a lot smaller) as their playroom. After some thought, we decided to make the small room baby #2’s very own nursery but knew I had to get creative on how to make it look larger and brighter.

The room has a slanted ceiling that makes it feel cozy but darker. In addition, one entire side of the room has built-in shelves that I really wanted to tear out – I’m glad I didn’t.

I began with the colorful and bright watercolored triangle wall decals and went from there. I went with a white & neutral sleek crib so it didn’t take up too much space and bought a simple-minimal white changing table, instead of a dresser that would seem bulkier and make the room look smaller. I found colorful bins to insert on the shelves and utilize them as drawers and my husband (after numerous failed attempts) found this beautiful rug, which is simple and neutral yet carries a pop of color that contributed to the cheerful vibe. We couldn’t be happier with our rainbow-burst and playful nursery for our 2nd baby girl.
