Little Miss A’s Purple, Grey and Teal Nursery

Description

I chose purple, grey and pops of teal for Adleigh's nursery because I wanted a space that she could grow into and use as a toddler room.  I created a lot of items in the nursery to make it feel more cozy.  My sister-in-law drew a few images that I framed and placed above the changing table.  I included some pictures from Adleigh's hospital photo shoot and included some booties that my aunt made.  You can check out more ideas over at my blog www.theorganizedmama.com

Design Inspiration

I got inspired for this space by the bedding I found at Land of Nod.  I just loved the different prints in the color purple. Once I found some bedding that I loved, my husband and I picked a paint color that would work with the bedding.  My son had a grey and yellow nursery that I was planning on using some items from his nursery into Adleigh's nursery, which is where the color grey came from.  We had the grey dresser from my husbands family that we decided to paint and add different handles.

Decorating Style

I feel that my decorating style is a twist on modern vintage with a touch of country.  I like things to look clean but still feel cozy and warm.

Favorite Items

I think my favorite item in the nursery is the picture wall gallery on the shelves.  I love looking at the pictures and items that are on the shelves and feel that it gives the room an extra touch of cozy.

Advice

My advice is to find something that you love for the nursery and go with that!  I found bedding that I just loved and that inspired the entire nursery!  I also added some personal touches that I feel will make any room more cozy and inviting.  I feel that any nursery should be a space you want to be in and that your child can grow into the space!
