Little Letty’s Eclectic Nursery

Description

This project is of the nursery I designed for our first child, Letty Grace.

Design Inspiration

Most people say the nursery is really for the mom and I would have to agree! Being I'll be the one utilizing the room the most (hello late night feedings!) I wanted a space that is relaxing while still maintaining a fun environment.

Decorating Style

From the mid-century modern dresser to the ultra traditional Jenny Lind crib, I feel this space is ECLECTIC!

Project Details

I started with the thought of a black crib. That is really where it all began. I then found the Villa Romo drape fabric and from there developed the room around those two things. Other than the drape I didn't want a lot of color in the space and only used the fuchsia pink as my accent color. The walls are BM Cool Mint and remind me of green sherbet. One fun project was turning the mid-century modern dresser into a super functional changing table. I painted the shell white and left the drawers their natural brown color. New hardware and drawer liners completed the transformation!

Favorite Items

The "L" above her crib is one of my favorite items because it was designed and hand made by my husband. Just a keep-sake from her daddy. Another element I love is a hand-written note I had framed that my husband wrote to me on my 30th Birthday when we revealed we were having a girl.

Advice

Don't stress over the small details! I didn't want everything "planned" so I left space on the bookshelves and room on walls for things I knew I would get as gifts or collect along the way. Its those special, unique pieces that really make her room complete!

Angie, the sheets & changing cover are from Trend Lab that I actually found on Babies R Us' website! I believe they call it the mint chevron.

Hi Liz! Thank you! The bookshelf is from Ikea in their Vittsjo series. It comes in black and I spry painted it gold!

Thanks so much for the tip on the curtain fabric! I found it and am having some made! Yay :) Can I also ask where you found the mint chevron fabric for the sheets and changing pad cover? I ordered some online, but they just arrived and the color is more aqua than mint, which is disappointing :( I love that your fabric is lighter and matches the wall color really well. Thank you!!!

LOVE the whole thing. Can I ask where the brass book stand is from? It would go perfectly in my nursery!

Hi Angie! I ordered the fabric and had the drapes custom made. Below is the link to the product but you can only order the fabric through a fabric house. Or, try doing a search online. You might be able to buy yardage online! https://www.villanova.co.uk/collections/prints/loki/loki/cyclamen
