Shabby Chic Nursery ~ Pink Roses ~ Vintage Chenille

Description

We wanted our little girl to have a room she would feel happy in. I fell in love with her crib because of the floral scrolling.. we found the most beautiful antique dresser at an estate and my husband lovingly restored it. After Lily was born, her wonderful aunt painted a self portrait of her and gave it to her as a gift.

Design Inspiration

Lily's nursery was inspired by my love of the cottage style. I have always loved soft, pretty things... chenille, roses and everything pink!

Decorating Style

A wonderful mixture of old, new, roses, vintage chenille, pinks, white, soft and cozy things...

Project Details

Pale pink and white paint colors. The focal point to her nursery is her Graco Victoria crib, Rose Kidsline bedding & mobile and Wendy Bellissimo pictures. The South Shore changing table, wicker baskets and Wendy Bellissimo chenille cover. The antique dresser and two shelves were estate finds.

Favorite Items

My very favorite is her antique dresser that my husband restored for her. It so beautiful!  It took him 15 hours to restore and a lot of love. He just couldn't wait to have his little girl. I also love her beautiful white crib with floral scrolling which was special from her grandma and grandpa. The whole room is so inviting and warm.

Advice

Choose the things that make you happy when designing your babies nursery. Soft colors, inviting and peaceful. Everything doesn't have to be new.. it's those vintage pieces that add that special touch. If you love to be in the room.. so will your baby!

I’m sorry, I haven’t been on here lately.  The art on the walls are from the Wendy Bellissimo “Vintage Teaberry” collection.  She has a site online or you may be able to find on eBay.  One of the chenille quilts was made by a friend and the other was made by Linda from House of Chenille.  She is a lady who sells on eBay under the name houseofchenille.  They are breathtaking in person and heirloom quality.  Definately one of my very favorite parts of the room.  Good luck with your venture.  :)

I think I love this room very much.  The girly accents and decorations is a sign that your baby is going to be really pampered.  Congratualtions! :)

Thank you for your comment. I agree her room did look dim.. I had taken the pictures late afternoon. I think the pictures are better now. :)

I don’t know if it’s because of how you took the pictures, but the room seems very dim to me.  You might want to let more of the sun in by getting thinner drapes.  Otherwise, this room is perfect!
