Designing Juniper’s nursery while I was pregnant was an incredibly exciting project. I fell in love with designing children’s spaces when I was pregnant with my oldest daughter Olive, and was over the moon to learn that I was expecting baby girl number two a few short years later.

The vintagey bird wallpaper by Tyler Hall was our jumping off point, I just fell in love with the colours and the whimsical feel. You might say that I have a passion for wallpaper, and this one was just perfect for this space. From there we added in neutral furniture by Restoration Hardware Baby and Child, and a more modern crib by Dwell Studio.

The deer head above the crib, the bird house mobile above the change table, and the bird horses on the wall above the bookshelf are all by one of my favourite interior accessories designer Tamar Mogendorf. Her handmade pieces are truly a work of art, and have that vintage inspired look that I was going for, with a bit of a fun, modern twist.

I love decorating my girls’ spaces with handmade dolls from all over the world. Juniper has amassed quite the collection that I hope she will be able to hand down to her own children one day.

And finally, I wanted to make this room a place that my older daughter Olive also felt welcome and comfortable. We placed sheepskin rugs on the floor for her to curl up and read while I’m nursing, and added the furry white sheep “rocking horse” for her to have some fun.
