Description
I wanted my son's nursery to be a calm and modern yet comfortable room, as he grew I felt like toys and color needed to be added in order to make his room more appealing to his age so he would enjoy spending more time in it. With the transition from crib to toddler bed and addition to a few toys, this became his bedroom's second stage.
Design Inspiration
I had no doubt I wanted my baby boy's room to be blue but choosing the right shade of blue was hard! I didn't want it too blue or the traditional baby blue. I wanted it to be elegant and a color he could enjoy through a later age. I personally don't like children's rooms, too many toys, too much color, I wanted it to be minimal yet appropriate for his age. From the color and the simple lines came everything else. I did a square design on the walls alternating the main blue shade and a light grey which carried on through out the rest of the room. So I mainly used white, greyish blue and grey or silver.
Decorating Style
I love color but added as details to a room and prefer soothing, comfortable overall colors on walls and fabrics. Small details make a huge impact and complete a room.

Advice
Pick something as a base to guide you through your project, a color scheme, an object, a piece of furniture and stick to it.

I love your choice of blue. Was it a custom color or an Olympic color?

I would commend you on your choice of blue. This is lovely. I love the books and the toys, but I love how you were able to put everything in place and not have the room cluttered.
