Harper’s Pink & Grey Chevron & Elephant Nursery

Description

Our little Harper's nursery consists mostly of soft pink, grey, and white with a little chevron and polka dots thrown in for fun. And for a little pizzazz there are a few elephants in the mix too. My husband grew up to his mom and grandma singing him the "you are my sunshine" song so the prints above the crib were a special request of his - cheers to carrying on the tradition. :)

Design Inspiration

I wanted a room that was soft and girly without being too frilly, but one that would also be a calming retreat for me, considering the amount of time I'll soon be spending in there. At first I was thinking about aqua but the more time I spent online looking at baby bedding I kept finding myself drawn to a soft pink and grey theme. I'm not a fan of character themes and knew I'd want something original so I focused on bringing color, patterns, and texture into the mix with one fun icon continuously splashed throughout - hence the elephants. :) I found most of my inspiration on Pinterest and Etsy and it turned out better than I'd hoped it would. :)

Decorating Style

I prefer a clean and contemporary, yet classic, look that is primarily focused on the effect different colors, patterns, and textures have, what they bring to a room, and how they make us feel.

Project Details

The crib and dresser are from Babies 'R' Us while the rocker/glider and stool are from BuyBuyBaby. I found the white table on Amazon.com and the elephant lamp came from Zazzle.com. The harper shelf and picture frame came from Etsy and the stuffed elephant on the shelf came from Pottery Barn - there's also a white kitty cat sitting in the crib. I couldn't find tissue paper in the colors I wanted, and didn't want to spend any more time on it, so I found the paper pom poms at Etsy. The elephant "you are my sunshine" prints came from Etsy and I bought the white frames and mats at Michaels. The chevron elephant pillow and the pillows on the glider all came from Etsy and I found the bedding at CarouselDesigns.com. I got the inspiration for the empty frames above the dresser from Pinterest and Etsy, but found our assortment at Hobby Lobby at 50% off and the hubby painted them grey, white, and pink, along with the wooden 'H' we hung inside one of the frames. The hair bow holder on the closet door is made from fabric that matches her bedding and I found it on Etsy as well.

Favorite Items

My favorite item would have to be the chevron elephant pillow I found on Etsy (currently standing on the back rail of the crib). It's rick rack and yarn tail is super fun and the crinkly, soft pink, minky ear and back side of the pillow just begs to be pet and snuggled with.

Hi there! This is beautiful, modern, simple and calming. Great job! I was wondering what color is on your walls? It's sort of looks like a peach.
