Ellie’s Vintage Nursery

Description

I wanted a calm nursery with a vintage feel that Ellie could grow into.  My cousin and aunt are talented decorators and offered to help design the space.  We decided to go with light yellow on the walls, and we loved the chevron stencil that we used.  Pops of color were added with the dresser, wall decor, curtains, crib skirt and pillows.

Design Inspiration

I looked online at different nursery bedding collections to get ideas of what I wanted.  I didn't want to buy a collection because I didn't use half of what was included in my first little one's set.  I gravitated towards the bird and flower themes using a neutral color with pops of brighter color added in.

Decorating Style

I lean towards traditional, and I love anything Pottery Barn.

Favorite Items

I have a few favorites.  I love all of my custom made items - pillows, crib skirt, curtains.  It means so much that they were made and given to me by family.  The chevron wall was a group effort by a group of family members.  I also love my glider, it is incredibly comfortable.  The drawer liner is a favorite, as well.

Advice

Don't purchase a full set.  It is much more fun to pick pieces you like, and enjoy the process of putting it all together.

I love those vintage frames on your wall. That ornately cut clock is pretty adorable, too.
