Ellie’s Pink and Gold Dinosaur Party

Description

A DIY girly and glittery pink and gold dinosaur birthday party for my 3 year old daughter.

Design Inspiration

Ellie has been loving dinosaurs lately, so I decided to go a little unconventional and combine a girly pink and gold theme with the dinosaur idea, since dinosaurs are typically seen with a more earthy color scheme. We didn't have too much money to spend on a party, so I made everything that I could myself. I also did a lot of Pinterest browsing for inspiration.

Project Details

The invitations were the most fun part to make by hollowing out an egg and inserting the dinosaur shaped invitation and hole-punched confetti through a tiny hole. I then painted them with gold glitter glue and put them in "nests" made with paper cups and tissue paper.  I used this free printable from Yellow Bliss Road to create the cute little cupcake topper with bakers twine from Michaels and the pink and white striped straws that I found at TJ Maxx. I purchased the dinosaurs (which I spray painted gold), plates, tissue paper for the hanging garland which I made by hand, and pink party favor bags from the local Dollar Tree. The glitter paper that I cut the hearts out of, candy sticks that I glued them to, and cupcake liners were also purchased at Michaels craft store. I made and decorated all of the cookies and also made Ellie's tutu by hand. Her cute little dinosaur shirt is from Carters.

Favorite Items

Probably the invitations. I had so much fun making them and watching Ellie crack one open to see the confetti and dinosaur "hatch" out of the egg.
