Elin’s Winter Onederland 1st Birthday

Description

Elin's birthday is just a few days after Christmas. With all the hustle and bustle of the holiday and a birthday to follow I wanted them to be two separate things but at the same time not have to redesign the house. After searching Pinterest and Etsy I fell in love with the idea of having a Winter Onederland themed party. I could use my Christmas decorations but also make a party out of it.

Design Inspiration

My inspiration for Elin's first birthday was the winter landscape that we see on her first birthday. I wanted to include that rustic outdoor look, but still feel like it was ok to have Christmas decorations out.

Decorating Style

My style is vintage meets modern, but this party was all about the rustic look.

Project Details

Favorite Items

My favorite item were the favors. I loved the idea of sending home something that everyone loves "Hot Chocolate." Plus I had those adorable glass baby food jars that I was looking for something fun to do. These favors were a huge hit with all the guest and the hot chocolate is amazing.

I also really like the picture garland I made using her monthly pictures. It was so nice to see her growing and I loved the way it turned out.

Advice

We tend to go overboard on the first birthday. However, they don't remember so my advice is don't stress. Keep it simple because it allows you to truly enjoy that first birthday. They grow up so fast so you definitely want to remember all those moments.

Also hire a photographer, I took all of the pictures and just wish I would have had someone to take them so I could completely be focused.
