Project Details
I handmade the banners from quilting fat quarters and the clouds from felt and batting. I am a graphic designer so I created all of the artwork for the room as well as the artwork on the pillow in the rocking chair. You can find these prints by clicking here. I refinished the dresser, nightstand, and rocking chair that I picked up at flea markets and thrift stores. The airplane over the bed was purchased from Pottery Barn Kids. The frames and table lamp were purchased from IKEA and then spray painted by me. The curtains and bookshelf were purchased from IKEA and then I added the star fabric to the back panel. The "toys" and "stuff" bins were purchased from IKEA and I added the labels to them via iron on transfers that I made. The propeller was purchased off of eBay. The clocks represent various time zones around the world- except for the "Denton" clock, which will be stopped at the time of his birth. (Note: Denton is being named after Denton, Texas- where my husband and I met, married, and began our lives together- so it actually is a real place and does belong in the CST time zone. :) )
Favorite Items
I can't decide what's my favorite! I love the changing table wall with the propeller and prints... BUT I also love the plane with cloud and banner over the bed! Oh and I really love the clocks and the idea of stopping his clock on his time of birth. I guess I'm just partial to this nursery!
When I saw this baby’s name I got so excited because I’m from Denton, Texas!!!! What a fabulous name and nursery to celebrate such a great city. Congrats!
It that a vintage Fisher Price Roly Poly Chime Ball I see on the shelf?! Love this room! We did an airplane theme as well!
Where did you get the crib sheets at?
I love the pillow on your chair…do you sell the pillow on your Etsy site? I saw the airplane prints, but LOVE the pillow.
I also love the pillow! We have a grandson coming in November and has a vintage aviator nursery theme! Is the pillow available to order on Etsy and have it personalized?
I love this!
QUESTION: where did you get the city labels posted under the clocks? Did you make them?
I’m doing a vintage old world/ travel theme & I’m borrowing the clocks idea!!
Jennifer- I went to school at UNT in Denton. Then a few years down the road I met my husband in Denton, we married in Denton, and our first house was in Denton. So, we named Denton after the city because it had so much meaning for us! :)
Bailey- Yes! It is a vintage FP Ball. It was my grandmother’s and we all played with it as kids!
Brie- The fitted sheet came from http://www.sheetworld.com
Mary Beth & Eliza- The pillow isn’t currently in my shop, but if you messaged me via Etsy- I’d be happy to create a pillow design for you!
Sonya- Yes, I made the labels.
I’m sorry for the delayed response to all of these comments. Life has been a little crazy since welcoming Denton! :)
What paint color did you use? I love how it gives you the baby blue look, but it’s not overwhelming.
Where did you find the bedding?
Heather- the paint color is SW 6246 North Star cut at 50%
Rocio- I got the bumper from Carter’s, the fitted crib sheet from sheetworld.com, and the crib skirt from amazon.
Where did you find the yellow desktop plane?!
Beautiful room! What did you use to hang the airplane and clouds? We just hung a few airplanes in my son’s room and used 50 lb fishing line. I feel like you can see it too much though.
So cute!! how did you hang the items from the ceiling?
W have the same propeller. How did you mount it?
I am desperately searching for a map that says over the top of it Adventure Awaits. I found in online but the link for it takes me to this website, however I don’t see it on here anywhere. Can someone please help me find this!!!
Hi Kelly, Is it this one?
Great room!! Where did you get the toy wooden airplane sitting on the shelf??
