Coral and Navy Nursery with Pops of Gold

Description

I couldn't find a "theme" that hit the spot. I loved the idea of coral and navy with a touch of gold. We are military, so painting the walls weren't an option. We also only made two purchases for this entire nursery, the curtains and the rug. Everything else was gifted or DIY under $10.

Design Inspiration

I wanted something she could grow into and not look too "baby." I wanted to use pieces we could incorporate for years to come.

Project Details

The large stuffed giraffe was the first gift (two days after she was announced) and the room grew around it. The changing table was a DIY transformation of my husband's college desk. The lamp shade was a DIY project to match the gold-dotted Land of Nod sheets. The gallery wall was created from given prints, signs around the house, and an oversized initial.

Favorite Items

The wood carved giraffe was a sweet surprise gift. I love her 3D picture and paci jar. The gallery wall is my overall favorite for all it represents.

Advice

We had an extra bed in the nursery, and while I wanted the extra space, we got a lot of advice that the bed might be very useful for late nights. We keep it in the room and I'm glad we did. We utilized her closet for a lot of storage and organization for gear, clothes, diapers, etc.
