Clara’s Nursery

Description

I loved the idea of painting the nursery a pale peachy pink and having cream and gold accents.  I used a mix of old and new to create a vintage look with a modern twist.

Design Inspiration

I was inspired by several nurseries I found on Pinterest as well as the dotted swiss pillow I ordered off of etsy from meeshy.

Decorating Style

I love a mix of vintage and modern, but also enjoy other types of design depending on the room.

Project Details

I made the crib skirt from crimped chiffon and bridal lace from Joann's. I created the framed letters with repurposed frames and textured scrapbook paper. I got the letters off eBay in times font and painted them with Martha Stewart craft paint called Mother of Pearl.  I purchased new knobs for my changing table from Hobby Lobby. I also made the chandelier out of doilies for my sisters wedding a few years back. The idea came from a Martha Stewart weddings magazine. The nightstand has paper covered draws to coordinate with the room. I love DIY projects and this nursery is full if them!

Favorite Items

The letters over the crib because they turned out better than I ever could have imagined and are a great focal point for the room.

Advice

Use a mix of what you already have and purchase a few key items to match the theme. Plus, carry a paint chip with you EVERYWHERE so you are always prepared! Mine was Behr Salmon Tint.
