Charley’s Classically Feminine Nursery

Description

Classically feminine blue and pink nursery featuring delicate touches such as eyelet curtains, and do-it-yourself touches featuring trees, birds, owls and delicate flower prints.

Design Inspiration

My greatest inspiration was my childhood. As a little girl, I was in love with eyelet lace, small flower patterns, and delicate colors - such as you might find in an old quilt or in children's clothing in the late 1800's. I searched seemingly forever for nursery bedding and inspiration that reflected by interest and came up short. Everything was overly-girly (chandeliers, lots of pink, ruffles and pearls), so gender-neutral it wasn't obviously a girl's room, or included cartoon animals reminiscent of a preschool classroom. Finally, I tripped across the light blue and pink girls' nurseries and I fell in love. I gave up on finding bedding and accessories, and instead decided to make my own.

Decorating Style

Feminine yet simplistic. Classic and (hopefully) timeless.

Favorite Items

The curtains! There are so many beautiful DIY items in the nursery that I am extremely proud of. However, the eyelet curtains combined with the Tiffany blue walls create such a calming ambiance that I don't want to leave!
