Description
This DIY arctic animal themed 1st birthday party was put together with love to celebrate my daughter turning 1. With the intention of making it fun for adults and kids, I incorporated food and activities for ALL to enjoy!
Design Inspiration
My daughter's love of animals - and the very snowy winter we've had in Illinois!
Decorating Style
Eclectic (yet somehow organized and precise), always with a vintage flair :)
Project Details
All adorable print materials were provided by Lemon Berry Moon on Etsy. I made the banner myself by taping the banner circles to a ribbon and then hot-gluing mini clothespins to the bottom of each one to hold the monthly pictures. It was really easy and inexpensive.
The super fun Igloo play house was created by Bentz Baby on Etsy.
3-D Snowflakes were DIY and found on Pinterest.
I made the animal masks myself by printing out images found on Pinterest and then hot-gluing oversized popsicle sticks to them.
I also found ideas for the hot cocoa bar and chili bar on Pinterest.
I made the favor boxes myself by purchasing plain white pop up favor boxes from Hobby Lobby and then hot-gluing the little chalkboard tags to the center of the boxes. I just finished them off with some raffia and the favor tag! Another thing that was easy and inexpensive!
The high chair banner was purchased from Pretty Little Clippie on Etsy.
Favorite Items
Definitely the banner - not only did it turn out looking really great, but it was such a cool way to display the beautiful growth of my baby girl over the past year!
My other favorite thing was the Wish Card concept. It was so much fun to sit down at the end of the day and read what everyone wrote :)
Advice
If you shop smart, you don't have to be skimpy with the décor :) Since I knew I was doing this theme early on, I picked up a lot of the décor after all the Christmas stuff went on clearance - most of the trees and garland were a couple of bucks a piece!
