Baby G’s Gender Neutral Nursery

Description

We decided to keep Baby G's gender a surprise until the arrival, but it was important to design a nursery that would transition well for either gender.  Using the color scheme of mint and orange, we crafted a calm, soothing nursery for our long awaited bundle of joy.  We only had a small space to work with so it had to be light, airy, but functional.

Design Inspiration

Our inspiration was the song "Oh What a Beautiful Morning", a song that my grandmother used to sing to me as a child.  Wall art included prints of the lyrics as well as photography of sunrises from some of our favorite locales.  The finishing touches were added after Baby BOY G arrived, a monogram decal for above the crib and a photo of the sunrise from the hospital room the morning of his birth.

Decorating Style

Traditional and colorful.  Lots of photography, a hobby of mine, reminding us of our favorite memories.

Favorite Items

My favorite item is the Sam Moore Accent Swivel Glider, purchased from Jordan's Furniture.  My favorite hour of the day is spent with Baby G here, I savor every moment!

Advice

Originally, the color combination came to me from a throw pillow that I loved.  If you have an item that you love, no matter how small, use it as your inspiration and roll with it!
