It was time to transition this four year old into a big boy bed, so we jumped at the opportunity to completely transform the room into an adventurous haven. It all started with this wonderful jungle land mural from Rebel Walls which adds tons of impact while staying true to the rooms’ soft colour palette. It was so wonderful to collaborate with them on this project, and it turned out better than I could have imagined.
I wanted to keep the room fairly soft in terms of a colour palette, so introduced some variations of blues and green to complement the wallpaper. Lots of birch wood tones and black accents add lots on contrast and texture. Instead of a traditional area rug, we opted for a long runner placed along the side of his bed. We added a beautiful custom illustrated print above the bed from the very talented Gabriella Galvez, a work area for lego, colouring and eventually homework, black metal book ledges that create a focal feature wall, and a special wooden chest to keep little treasures and collectibles close at hand. This room has quickly become a fan favourite in the house, especially for its’ little jungle king!
