Project2

Our team looks forward to selecting the Project of the Week every week. It gives us time to explore the gallery and see all the amazing projects our readers are uploading. So we had the idea, wouldn’t it be fun if our readers helped us select the Project of the Week? So we are doing just that. Each week Team Project Nursery will select three projects from the gallery that have wowed us. On Fridays, we will reveal the top three projects; then it's up to you to let us know which one you "like" best by clicking on the like button on the project's gallery page. On Monday, at 12pm, the project with the most "likes" will have bragging rights as Project of the Week. Citrus Lane Monthly Service

To this day, when I hear the words "care package," my ears perk up, my heart starts to race a little and I'm reminded of my camp days when receiving a package from home literally made me jump for joy. I still get excited when I spot a package waiting for me on my front porch. And now imagine that the box is filled with new and useful products to try for mom and baby—now that's a great day! So when I received a sample package from Citrus Lane, a service that delivers monthly care packages filled with the best, mom-recommended baby products, I felt like that camp kid again. My pretty little Citrus Lane Welcome Baby box, with its signature yellow stripe and logo, contained some terrific products any new mom would be excited to try. Take a peek inside... Petunia Pickle Bottom Touring Tote

I have a love/hate relationship with most diaper bags. I love the functionality, but I hate having a huge, bulky bag hanging off my shoulder. I wish I had known about Petunia Pickle Bottom's Touring Tote back when I was picking out my diaper bag! Sleek and stylish, it has all the function of a typical diaper bag but nothing that screams "I have half-a-dozen diapers in my purse!" Available in fifteen gorgeous patterns, the Touring Tote fits right in alongside designer purses. But just because it looks like a beautiful purse, doesn't mean it doesn't have all the great diaper bag functionality. It's equipped with pockets galore, including general interior pockets, two bottle pockets, a pacifier pocket and a pocket for mom's cell. It even has a changing pad tucked discreetly in the back pocket. The bag adapts to three different options for hanging styles—hobo, long shoulder strap or stroller clips—depending on your needs. Its short stature with a wide, double zipper opening allows for easy access to everything in your bag while you're on the go. WIN IT! One Project Nursery reader will win the Touring Tote in the pattern of your choice. A $145 value! Visit Petunia Pickle Bottom, and let us know which pattern is your favorite in a comment below. Note: Petunia Pickle Bottom can only ship in the US. Contest ends Friday, October 21st, 2011 at 11:59 PST. Babybug

Everyone knows that kids love mail. My two-year-old is even pleased when I hand him a piece of junk mail to play with. But now, he can look forward to some actual mail of his own. His grandma recently purchased a subscription for him to the adorable children's magazine Babybug. We received our first issue just last week, and my son loves it! It's a small, square magazine that's made of high-quality, sturdy paper that can withstand the turning and bending of a toddler. Advertised as appropriate for children 6 months to 3 years, the magazine is printed with non-toxic ink—important if your 6-month-old is a book chewer—and the binding is staple free. With twenty-two pages of short stories, rhymes and poems, it's the perfect addition to your daily reading material. The illustrations are sweet and child-pleasing, and because they are created by a number of different artists, there is plenty of variety. I must admit I'm biased to like this magazine because I was a subscriber of Cricket Magazine, the original magazine from the parent company, when I was in elementary school, and I loved reading the stories. Cricket is a literary magazine for kids aged 9 to 14, Spider for kids 6 to 9 and Ladybug is for kids aged 3 to 6. Do your little ones have any magazine subscriptions? I'd love to hear about what else is out there.

Beautiful Butterfly Set

It's time for another PN reader question and answer session. Amanda, who hails from Seattle, Washington, sent us an email asking us to give a few tips for organizing the changing table in her baby's nursery. She seems to always be fumbling during diaper changing time, and as anyone who has wrestled with a fidgety baby knows, it's important to be armed and ready! No matter what the space constraints or type of changing table, we always recommend setting up the changing table for success. This is one area in the nursery we think it is important to have ready before baby arrives home. It's also helpful the first few months after baby is born to have a mobile diaper caddy stocked and ready, so that you can move it around the house depending on where you and baby spend time. I've got lots of stairs in my house, so another diaper changing area was key for me. WIN IT! In honor of our wonderful community, we are giving one lucky reader the Beautiful Butterfly 7-piece crib bedding set, which includes the diaper stacker seen in this video (A $189 value!). To enter, share with us by commenting on this post with any tip, challenge or story relating to your changing station to enter. Contest ends Friday, October 14th, 2011 at 11:59 PST.
