We have a soft spot for Caden Lane here at Project Nursery because our very own Katy Mimari is the owner and designer. But the truth of the matter is our love for Caden Lane goes further back, long before Katy started writing here. And who could fault us? Her designs are gorgeous, and Katy's eye for mixing and matching unusual combinations of colors and patterns always leads to amazing results. Our dear friends at Caden Lane are offering one lucky reader the chance to choose between two amazing prizes: a $500 shopping spree to Caden Lane OR a personal design consultation with Katy Mimari, designer and owner of Caden Lane. Wow! Caden Lane just released their new Ikat collection of crib bedding, also featuring everyone's favorite pattern of the moment—chevron! This collection's lush combination of patterns and textiles will give your child's room a bright and bold punch of color. The collection can be purchased as sets or as individual pieces, so you can mix and match to your heart's content. Take a look at this design board Katy created for Project Nursery featuring the girl's line to get ideas for your own child's room. And if your little one has graduated to a big kid room, check out the big kid bedding in the same gorgeous prints. There's a lot more than just bedding available at Caden Lane, including, wall decor, room accessories, baby gear and more! So make sure you browse through the whole site. WIN IT! …

Our gallery has been on FIRE! Our team was floored when trying to make this week's pick. My first thought was, "How are we ever going to narrow this down?" It was impossible to pin it down to four, so this week our team selected five projects for our "Nurseries and Parties We Love." Can you pick just one? We'll find out on Monday! My method make-under is off to a promising start, and spring cleaning feels especially right this year. The pretty, toxin-free products look so cheerful lined up under my kitchen sink, and I've actually found myself a wee bit more motivated to clean. Full disclosure—I do have a weekly cleaning woman (she's my hero!), but she's also thankful for the new cleaning loot. Method and Noah, the official spokesinger of method, are at it again with another clean happy video that will have you feeling the love and wanting to "Clean Like a Mother" too! I'll admit my cleaning conscience has been on high alert after becoming a method maven last March. I thought I knew a thing or two about green cleaning, but at the event, I learned WAY more about safe cleaning ingredients for the home and the environment. It dawned on me that I was still using a few products with super nasty toxic chemicals and dare I say...bleach! That's when I silently pledged to give my home cleaning products a make-under. Here's my new product lineup. My kids aren't sure what has gotten into their mother since I've been busy spraying the all-purpose cleaner all over the place. Its plant-based "powergreen" technology safely knocks out all the usual suspects in my kitchen: counter tops, tables, highchair, cabinets and even the wood floor. I love the efficiency of a one-stop shop, and the fact that the bright orange color matches my kitchen makes me smile. With Earth Day …

In my last post, I shared all of my nursery projects. This week, I'm going to show where I am with my toddlers' room. When we were planning nursery #3, we kicked it into high gear to get started on the other two boys' shared room. You may remember the DIY toddler palette bed tutorial I shared, but not much else has taken place since. Now that things have settled down a tad, I thought it was time to get going on finishing my little surfers' paradise. I pinky swear when it is ALL complete, I will post the entire room design. Since the assembly of the beds, I have added a few things. 1. Painted craft letters 2. Ikea paper lantern turned hard-wired light fixture 3. Repurposed/repainted nursery decor 4. Decorative lanterns 5. Locker bins to hold homework and art projects   Oh, and we can't forget about the DIY swing shelf. So now here is my wish list to add some final touches. 1. Surfboard Plaque 2. Chevron Rug 3. Polished Nickel Pendant 4. Weathered Wood Beach Banner   Don't you just LOVE the Chevron Rug? That is a must! Now, I think the only thing missing is some paint detail on the wall. Have you come across some fab finds for your nursery or room design? Please share!
