BabyBjornLiving

Bringing home baby also means bringing home loads of "stuff." While the nursery is the logical room to house baby's new gear, let's face it folks, it will inevitably spill into your living room. Cut through the newborn fog a couple of weeks later, and suddenly you find yourself under the attack of unattractive bouncers in animal prints with flashing lights. Team Project Nursery is throwing up the red flag here and suggests starting with a single, classic baby seat—the BabyBjorn Babysitter Balance. Forget sacrificing your design sense just because you’re a parent now. There's something to be said about a company that's been in business for 50 years and remains a leader in style. In honor of BabyBjorn's big 5-0 celebration, they have revealed three limited-edition fabric choices with some serious '70s retro flair for a twist on their timeless bouncer. There's no question that in the design world, mid-century modern is in high demand and retro remains cool. So why not go with a bouncer that truly complements your lifestyle and the rooms in your home? But then again, it's not just about the good looks. The Babysitter Balance offers proper back and head support for baby, and because it's not motorized, it helps your child to develop motor skills and balance. In fact, it's the child that sets the pace. With three different positions and compact folding for storage, it shows that BabyBjorn is a true testament to both style and functionality. Paint Palette Cookie Favors

Sometimes life gets so busy that things like ordering treats for your kiddo's birthday party can get pushed to the side until—uh oh, it's too late! Sound familiar to you? This is pretty typical for me. Good news is, in situations like this, I am forced to improvise, which sometimes yields the best results. A few weeks ago, my business partner and I were preparing for her son's art-themed birthday party. I will share the full party spread with you soon, but in the meantime, I had to share this quick and easy cookie tutorial for the next time you need a party treat in a hurry! Artist's Palette Cookies: Super Easy, Super Fun, Super Cute! Here's what you need to do... 1. Bake up some sugar cookies 2. Punch a hole in slightly warm cookie (I used the opposite end of my icing tip) 3. Pipe icing onto you cookies in the shape of a paint palette 4. Decorate with M&M candies to mimic dollops of paint Now, you are all ready to serve them up on a platter or use them as a party favor like we did here! Grab some cello bags, baker's twine and some tags and here are some edible pieces of art your little Picassos can take home. Have a great party DIY you want to share? Leave a comment or upload your pics into our gallery.

Pregnant Yoga

After having my third baby, my body did not bounce back as quickly as after my two previous pregnancies with my boys. I needed to take my body back, so I worked with a personal trainer at my local gym. I hated every aspect of weight training. I had a tough trainer who would exhaust me and make me sweat. I cursed like a truck driver every session without fail, but I also laughed through every painful lunge. I simply adored my trainer, Carly Pizzani. With Carly's help, I watched my body transform and lost the baby weight. Carly remains a dear friend, an incredible trainer, and she is now a new mother to baby Roman. Here, she shares some very important tips when it comes to pre- and post-baby exercising. What are some of the benefits of exercise during pregnancy? Benefits for mommy include all the benefits that exercise usually imparts: stress relief, more positive body image, better sleep quality and more energy—all super important during pregnancy. Regular exercise during pregnancy can also increase your endurance levels, which will, of course, be a huge advantage during labor—the ultimate endurance event! What forms of exercise are safe during pregnancy? Whatever you’re already doing is safe to continue as long as you feel comfortable doing it and your exercise of choice does not include any falling hazard or any chance of blows to the abdomen. Swimming, running, walking, weight training and yoga are fine to continue during pregnancy. Listen to your body …
