Orla Kiely for Method

The funky, fresh folks of Method recently collaborated with the fashionable pattern maker Orla Kiely on a new line now available in Target stores nationwide. The limited edition hand washes, dish soap and all-purpose cleaner feature four exclusive scents such as pear ginger, bay leaf, primrose and vanilla chai. This exciting partnership marries Orla Kiely’s signature patterns with Method’s bottle designs. Together, they showcase their common bond of sustainability, eco-consciousness, color, pattern and design. This beautiful pairing has us swooning over modern day, retro designs found in the nursery. We've rounded up some popular baby rooms we think Orla would approve: Jude's Vintage Nursery   Retro Owl Nursery via Chic & Cheap Nursery   Stella's Newborn Nursery via On To Baby   Fingers crossed that Orla Kiely starts creating fabulous patterns for the nursery! In the meantime, we can all enjoy Method's beautiful packaging and their signature, naturally derived formula, free of any dirty ingredients, like parabens, phthalates, triclosan and EDTA, and packaged in recyclable bottles made with 100% recycled plastic (PCR). For a chance to win Method's exclusive Orla Kiely products, be sure you "Like" Method on Facebook, and look out for their upcoming Facebook Sweepstakes the week of August 22nd. When it comes to fashion, we all have our vices. Some women love shoes, some love jeans—I've always been a purse girl. Nothing says "I'm fabulous" like a beautiful handbag on your shoulder. So when the time came to turn in my well-dressed purse for a diaper bag, I didn't want to sacrifice on style. It was important to me to find a bag that didn't scream "look at me, I am filled with bottles and diapers" but was functional enough to actually hold all the diapers, bottles and everything else a new mom needs. Petunia Pickle Bottom has always done a fabulous job at marrying fashion and function, and their new Fall 2012 Collection proves that. One of the newest members to the classic Petunia Pickle Bottom family is the City Carryall. Inspired by the cosmopolitan charm of the city and the needs of the busy mom on-the-go, this bag represents Petunia Pickle Bottom’s trademark for functionality, versatility and style. Complete with organizational pockets, a spacious interior with water-resistant lining, a built-in changing station, a PVC-free wipeable exterior and multiple carrying options, the City Carryall is a must-have urban accessory.   WIN IT! One Project Nursery reader will win the City Carryall in the pattern of your choice. A $159 value! HOW TO ENTER: Visit Petunia Pickle Bottom, and let us know which pattern is your favorite in a comment below. Note: Petunia Pickle Bottom can only ship in the US. As most of your know (and have seen), Project Nursery and The Honest Company teamed up to throw the biggest parties Pinterest has ever seen! Over the past two weeks, we've pinned design ideas inspired by The Honest Company's anchor and bloom diapers. This week, we'll be pinning black and white nursery design inspired by The Honest Company's skull diapers. We have a teamed up with some of our favorite pinners and trendsetters to help us create a jaw-dropping Pinterest board. Featuring special guest pinners from: The Honest Company, Zinc Door, Daily Candy, Hollywood Hot Moms, The Novogratz, Cupcake Mag and Who What Wear   Log on August 15th at 6pm PDT/9pm EDT to see the pinning in progress or check back after to see our complete Black & White Inspiration pinboard. We promise, you’ll be inspired!

Vintage Toy Tea Cups

Inspired by “Century of the Child: Growing by Design, 1900–2000," this week we decided to bring some extra vintage to modern decor. When we receive requests to add a "touch of vintage" to children's rooms, we always recommend that parents-to-be look for something that already belongs to their family, in particular toys. We also go around to flea markets or search online for original pieces or replicas that can add a nice touch. We are big fans of the Kit-Cat Clock. Can you believe this clock has been around for 80 years? In 1932 during the heart of The Great Depression, the Kit-Cat Clock with his signature wagging tail, rolling eyes, and contagious smile inspired joy during one of America’s darkest hours. This clock remains incredibly popular—every three minutes, for the past 50 years, someone has purchased a Kit-Cat Clock. Wagons are always in fashion! Instead of getting a new wagon, we like finding vintage wooden wagons, which we use to display children's books. We love tins. We are particularly fond of this Rocket Ride Tin and this Curious George Tin Bank. These vintage metal tea cups are perfect for holding a little girl's colored beads or Barbie's accessories, but they can also be stacked and converted into a beautiful side lamp.   Do you have any vintage toys in your child's room?

Zutano has a lot to celebrate: A quality brand spanning 23 years, great design, and the recent launch of a clothing, decor and accessories line in Target stores nationwide dubbed Zutano Blue. Sabrina and I were personally thrilled to be celebrating alongside the founding family of Zutano at the iconic FAO Schwarz with fellow bloggers last week. As co-host of the event with the fashionable team of Momtrends, we enjoyed a few fun hours getting to know our guests and learning more about the bold and whimsical brand. I personally had the opportunity to share some of this year's design trends in the nursery and kid space, along with a few tips for decorating parents. Founders Uli and Michael Belenky shared their story and future for the brand, showcasing hip little dinosaurs and playful circus themes. For a complete overview of the evening's festivities and more on Zutano's Spring and Fall collections, check out the video below as told by Nicole Feliciano.
