What about Giggle Six Baby makes you the most proud?
I love bringing to life a vision that my customers have for their nurseries. I find a lot of joy in creating beautiful, unique bedding that makes each nursery special. Bringing home your baby is such a significant moment in life, and I love that I get to share the experience with my customers in a small way.
Do you have a signature product or design element?
My signature product would have to be my patchwork blankets. They bring together everything in a nursery with all of the colors and prints combined into one piece. I make custom patchwork blankets to suit any nursery and offer a complimentary design service for the blankets as well as the bedding sets that go with them. They are backed with a super soft dimple minky dot, which make these blankets great for cuddle time.
What advice do you have for parents when curating their nurseries? Any nursery must-haves?
Designing a nursery can be overwhelming, especially for first-time parents. Oftentimes, new parents are unsure of what they really need and what will be useful to them. My advice is to start with one item that you love and work out from there. Sometimes you get stuck on a color scheme or theme and then you find something that doesn’t quite fit in that box. But if you start with just one item that you love, everything else will fall into place. I think there is a different must-have for everyone. For me, it was always a really fun blanket and crib sheet for my babies that gave their nurseries some extra interest. I guess if I had to choose just one must-have, it would be an extra crib sheet or two!
Where do you find your inspiration?
I think my biggest inspiration comes from fabrics and color. I love seeing different color combinations and bringing together unexpected fabrics to make something unique. Customers also have a large effect on my designs—they are continually keeping me inspired to create unique items.
Tell us your motto.
Enjoy life! I get a lot of joy out of my work, and I believe it’s because of it that I can run a successful business. This goes for being a mom, a wife and a friend, and it applies to every other aspect of life as well.
