Riding in Style to a New Phase of Life!

Big changes are happening at the Saulsbury house! My babies aren’t babies anymore. As much as I’m missing the days of jogging strollers and having my youngest strapped to my back, I’m finding new ways to embrace this stage of motherhood. Blake is still in that awkward stage—he’s too big for a stroller (he’s literally busting out of the seat), but he doesn’t have the the stamina to make it on long walks or bike rides. Five minutes into any family adventure, he’ll loudly declare that his legs have run out of energy. So, to welcome this new stage of life, we decided to add a new family member, meet Madsen!

I’m going to be honest, I completely lost my cool when I first saw this bike. I’ve been on the hunt to find a solution for our morning walks to school. One kid wants to ride her hoverboard (don’t ask), and the other wants me to squeeze him into a stroller that is four sizes too small for him or walk at the pace of a snail. Neither option is working. I’ve tried the traditional bike trailer. There are so many things I’m not a fan off, but trying to hook it up as we are about to dash out the door? Impossible. The Madsen Cycles bike is a total game changer for my family!

My kids have been all smiles since the bike arrived. The bike is designed to carry up to 600 pounds. Now, I’m not sure if I push that much, but it handles both my kids plus friends easily! The bucket includes two removable bench seats with four lap belts to keep everyone safe.

My daughter’s favorite spot is the front of the bike; nothing makes her feel cooler than rollling through our neighborhood.

This bike has changed a lot for us. We live in a small community where almost everywhere we need to go is accessible by bike. There have been countless times that we could have jumped in the car, but we decided to take the bike instead. Not only am I enjoying the extra exercise (I’m developing legs of steel), but I’m also loving the adventures that we have on our way to each destination. Nothing makes my heart smile more than my kids laughing and being outside. I love it when my daughter tells her friends, “We’ll pick you up on our bike.”

Madsen Cycles BikeThere is no doubt that this bike is an investment and doesn’t fall under the category of impulse buy, but if you live in a bike friendly community, in my opinion, it’s totally worth it. I might have even taken a few of my mom’s friends for a spin. With our new way of transportation, we are enjoying the journey together instead of just focusing on the destination.

This bike is also extremely well made—it’s attention to detail at its finest! Its heavy-duty kickstand is designed to allow you to load and unload your “cargo” safely. It’s not only well-designed, it’s also rugged enough to handle your adventures.
