WHO Loves a Great Dr. Seuss Activity? We Do!

Super mom Emily Klaparda recently celebrated Dr. Seuss’ birthday with her kids with a fun-filled week of Dr. Seuss activities! Of course, these activities can be used any time of the year, whether it be for a birthday party activity or just a fun project for the kids to work on. I know my kids love it when I break out the craft supplies; pair a craft with a beloved book and they are in heaven.

Before you get started, serve up an adorable Seuss-inspired lunch complete with a cheese Lorax atop the sandwich and truffula tree toothpicks adorning cheese cubes. Don’t forget The Cat in the Hat strawberry and banana stacks. Yum!

Dr. Seuss-Themed Kids Lunch

Create The Cat in the Hat’s famous hat by gluing alternating strips of construction paper. Kids can work on their cutting skills and pattern making.

I love these truffula trees, inspired by The Lorax, created simply by scrunching up some tissue paper and gluing on popsicle sticks.

Use different colored goldfish crackers to create a fun counting activity based on One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish.

And my favorite activity that Emily shared is this Horton Hears a Who search. Get this, in that bowl of fuzzy pink pom poms one has another smaller pom pom glued onto it, representing the “speck” where Horton hears the whos. Kids can race to find it, or add in some kid tweezers to work those fine motor skills.
