Esther van de Paal is one third of the trio behind Babyccino, and we were so excited when she gave us a peek inside the whimsical big kids room that her daughters share. An architect by trade and mama of four (11-year-old Sara, nine-year-old Pim, six-year-old Ava and four-year-old Casper), Esther infused the space with an eclectic, vintage, collected vibe that’s just so cool. Thanks for the tour, Esther!
What inspired your room design?
We worked with furniture and pieces that we already had, some of them vintage or street finds. We kept the coloring of the walls white, creating a plain backdrop to the already colorful toys and bedding.
What was your favorite part of the process? And what do you love the most about the finished design?
I love that it’s such a sweet, girlish room without it being pink or frilly. It is such a happy, light room, and it’s so cozy, welcoming and inviting for play.
