islandfaerie: the bow holder thingy on the door is actually 5 yards of ribbon wrapped around the door and tied into a bow at the top. i included a close-up, hopefully that helps you!
megm312: i printed out desired letters, traced them on freezer paper, cut them out, ironed the freezer paper onto the front of the fabric (it peels right off, but makes it SO much easier to cut out the letters, seeing as i don’t like to write/mark on my fabric}, iron wonderunder to the back of the fabric, cut out letters on fabric, peel off freezer paper, warm the fabric with the iron to make it easier to peel off the wonderunder paper backing, place on pre-cut flags, iron to set and done! {i have done a lot of fabric appliqueing and find those steps the easiest for me!} :)

I think that you have been doubly blessed after years of trying, I guess that alone brought you a lot of inspiration. Congratulations! Where did you buy that rocking chair you have there? My favorites here would have to be that bow holder, so simple yet very eyecatching, and that bird painted ontop of that light switch. And of course, that mobile too!

lola815: the pom poms were from a martha stewart tutorial found here:
islandfaerie: the color is called “putty” from pittsburg paints. it’s a lot like behr’s “earl gray.” i have it in my master bedroom and great room. it has really pretty gray undertones, i love it!
recreate: thank you! we have been more than doubly blessed. it’s so much fun having twins! i bought the glider/rocking chair off of craigslist for $35. it was hideous. so all i did was spray paint it white (they painted it bright pink, but it was originally wood) and fix the slipcover. the pillow on it i made myself with an old white flat sheet and cut out varying sizes of roses and appliqued them on the front. oh and the rocking chair was originally from wal-mart. i noticed that when i was spray painting the bottom.

the bird mobiles were from a pattern i found online. the cribs are the graco lauren cribs. i wanted to find cribs that were white, looked good up against a wall, were well made and inexpensive, but most importantly….i wanted the girls to be able to see and interact with one another. i found some ADORABLE cribs online, but they had closed sides! i wanted slatted sides so they could see one another. AND i wanted them to be safe when they crawl over from one crib to the other. i was a gymnast and springboard diver, their dad a college level tennis and volleyball player, so i KNOW they’re going to be athletic and be climbing all over everything! thanks for looking! i also do a lot of other diy stuff, check out our blog! http://www.ehearte.blogspot.com

I wanted to know how much fabric was needed for each individual piece of the crib bedding. I am looking into seeing if I can have someone sew me the custom crib sheet but I would need to know how much fabric I would need to buy. (: I am so sorry for the these questions, I just feel in love with your nursery and the price. I myself am on a very tight budget. Thank you again.

i chose pink and green because i love those two color together! i’m really into grey, white and yellow right now, but that would make a much more modern-looking nursery, not as traditional as ours is, and as far as fabric yardage, it depends on what crib bedding pattern you use, so i’d start from there. search some patterns online….or buy the same one we used…..http://blujay.com/item/McCall-s-4855-Baby-Room-Essentials-Pattern-10100902-2304237

the bedding is a mix of designer fabrics from our local quilt shop, i don’t have the names! :( there are 3 different fabrics for each crib. one color is the fitted sheet and band at the bottom of the crib skirt….one is the bumper….and one is the main portion of the skirt. i just chose colors that went together. stella’s crib is calm (like her) and pink and green. olivias is bold and full of sass (like her, too! haha). i think some are moda fabrics, i’m really not sure! sorry! google fabric.com or howthorne threads, they have great fabric. i love amy butler fabric too. (you can email me at stellaandoliviasmommy@gmail.com and i can send you better pictures of their bedding if you want to search and find the exact same fabric)
the wall color is called homestead resort by valspar. it’s a really understated tan. like a creamy, grayish light tan. again with the gray undertones. i don’t like tans that look orangey.

Your room is adorable! I am having twin girls too and purchased the same cribs for their nursery – I’m wondering if you noticed a paint odor from the cribs? I love how simple (and inexpensive) they are, but am considering returning them because the odor is so strong. Thanks for you input!

oh my goodness! they stunk so bad! i aired out the room forever to get rid of the smell. it took a few months of them being up, but the smell has died down dramatically. good luck! i hope that helps!

I don’t know if this will get to you as the post is a couple of years old. However, after searching 53 pages of adorable nurseries, this is my favorite! You have a true gift and although I can’t imagine how busy you must be with two girls, you should make and sell stuff! You are so talented! I would buy up the whole room in a heartbeat! If you do sell or would be interested I would love to talk to you.
