How to Host a Santa Breakfast

The holiday season is such a magical time for children. There’s so much excitement and anticipation surrounding Santa’s big visit, and we thought it would be fun to share some ideas on how to kick off the countdown to Christmas with a special Santa breakfast.

The great thing about the holidays is that your home is already decorated for the festivities. A sparkly tree instantly makes the space feel celebration-ready. The rest of the party decor can be kept fairly simple. In honor of Santa’s famous phrase, we used gold foil balloons to spell out “HO HO HO” strung on red ribbon.

The kids table was set with a red paper table runner and felt ball garland running down the center. Adorable Santa and reindeer cups, napkins and straws, along with wooden utensils tied with ribbon created a special place setting for each little guest.

A Santa breakfast is a fun party for children of all ages. Schedule it for the morning hours, and make sure to note on the invitation that guests should come dressed in their cozy Christmas pajamas.

How to Make a Santa Pancake

What better to serve at a Santa breakfast than a sweet treat inspired by the big man himself? We found the most adorable Santa pancake tutorial and added a few special touches to sweeten the deal, like a Red Hot for the nose and chocolate chips for the eyes. Just make sure to make the pancakes ahead of time so they can cool before you decorate them. Serve with orange juice or a cup of hot cocoa!

Other party activities could include writing letters to Santa, reading The Night Before Christmas, and if you’re really feeling the holiday spirit, you could even have Santa make an appearance in person! Give each child a chance to sit on Santa’s lap and share his or her wish list. Don’t forget to take a picture and have Santa give the kids a candy cane or special treat.

Of course we all know that Santa gets milk and cookies on Christmas Eve, but what about the reindeer? As a party favor, have guests make “reindeer food” that they can either eat themselves or save and sprinkle on the lawn for Dasher, Dancer, Prancer and the gang!

Set out bowls of granola, peppermints, chocolate chips and white chocolate chips along with red gingham drawstring cloth bags, making it easy for little guests to scoop their own reindeer food creations.
