I think that my cousin had the same dilemma as you did. Their house was built in the early 1900s, and she wanted to preserve the legacy of the place. But she opted for earth colors that were very boring. What you did here is lovely! i have fired an email to my cousin to show her your work.

I love the fact that you were able to marry the old with the playful. It’s the accents, the colors and the things you put into this room that made it great. I love those globes :)
