Ava was born with a rare neurogenetic condition called Angelman Syndrome. As part of AS, she suffers from a sleep disorder, seizures, and has many special needs. Her room was designed to be both beautiful and safe, and be functional for caring for a disabled sweetheart! My dad (her Pop) built the bed from an origional design that he and I came up with, and my mom and I painted it to match the rest of her furniture. The dresser was a cheap craigslist find that I repainted, using a design pulled from her bedding.

Hello! My name is Tara and I have a daughter with hydrocephalus. We are currently trying to transition to a big girl bed, one that will keep her safe and while searching for ideas we found this bed and fell in love. It has everything our daughter might need in a bed. We would love to have one built but we were wondering if your father had a sort of blue print he used for the bed. And if so, would he be willing to share that with us. We would be so grateful. Thank you!

We have been frantically searching for plans for a bed for our son with special needs that has long ago outgrown his crib! We came across your bed and would love to build something similar. Do you have the plans online somewhere or would you be willing to share? We would really appreciate it!!!!

I have a daughter who is 2 who has pitt-hopkins which is very similar to AS and I have been eying this design for months as I know we need to make the transition within a year, Im wondering the same as above if you guys happen to have the plans, or sell them. Hi! Do the doors fold back or something when not in use? This is a amazing!! I need something like this for my son who had a TBI and has seizures. And if you have a blueprint or anytbing it would be appreciated!!!

Our granddaughter has Angelman Syndrome(UPD). Our son is in the process of transitioning her to a big girl bed and has asked his dad to build an enclosed bed. I would love to talk to you. Hi, This is awesome! Along with a lot of other parents on this thread my son is in need of a bed just like this, also with a seizure monitor. We are unable to get a new bed and want to use his existing bed and maybe add a frame and doors. Do you have instructions or plans? Any help is appreciated.

What a beautiful bed. Your daughter is lucky to have such a supportive family. Special needs beds are so expensive and out of reach for most families due to cost and are not covered by insurance. It is almost impossible to find plans for beds online. My 5 year old with DS and ASD sleeps in his closet with a full size foam matress and a door we cut in half. It suits his pupose for now but we would love the plans if you have them as we are moving and may.not find a house with a closet big enough to suit. Thanks.
