Carson’s Nursery

Description

This is a super budget nursery!  How did I complete it for so cheap?  I made the crib skirt by hand (an easy, no-sew project) and created DIY canvas art, used free online printables, and upcycled furniture from Goodwill with some spraypaint.  Don't forget shopping at the dollar store for all my organizing bins!  The biggest accent in the room is the DIY stenciled wall--easy to do and super cost-effective.

Design Inspiration

I took my inspiration other bright and fun nurseries!  I wanted the room to feel open, bright and cheerful...especially as a first-time mom surviving on not much sleep.  I knew that I wanted to contrast the aqua blue with it's opposite on the color wheel, orange, for a punch of color and boldness.

Decorating Style

My decorating style is fun and easy-going...on a budget.  Home-made is my thing!

Advice

You don't have to spend lots of money to achieve a cute nursery.  Get creative and make it personal.  :)  Also, don't be afraid to edit your space...we ended up taking the closet doors off and replacing them with billowy curtains.  It makes the room look so warm and inviting...and saves tons of space!

Love the swirls on the wall and the buttons with the clock.

Powder blue and orange. Now that's a color combination we don't see often. I also love the way you organized the closet.
