Sugar and Spice

Description

This stunning nursery was designed by Milk Deco as well as the furniture being designed and made by them. The idea was to have a calming blue feature wall with splashes of bright pink to pop against the blue and make it more girly.

Design Inspiration

We started with the Venetian mirror and furniture, the idea was to create a quirky space that was fun and different. We like to pay attention to the small details like the 3D butterflies on the wall and the pom poms in pink that run down the curtains. These elements create an interesting room that is fresh.

Project Details

The furniture, curtains, feeding chair, wall painting, pom poms, linen, vinyl bubble grass, 3D butterflies and design of the room were all done by Milk Deco (www.simplidecor.co.za) The client had the Venetian mirror and white floating shelves. She purchased the storage boxes under the cot as well.

Favorite Items

I love the bubble grass in white on the blue wall and and the 3D pink butterflies

Advice

Don't get stuck on pink for girls and blue for boys, get more creative, use interesting colors. Have a feature/focal wall, busy nursery walls can drive you crazy at 3am!
