Second-time moms often don’t have a baby shower, and with no registry to go by, it can be more challenging to think of the perfect gift for the mom who has done it all before. Here are our gift ideas for the second time mom (or third or fourth) that we are sure she’ll love.
A Beautiful Baby Book. Every baby needs his or her own baby book, and this Mother Stork’s Baby Book is especially luxurious. It’s a reprint of a 1904 heirloom baby book, which is printed on archival 100lb cardstock and beautifully bound. The special book comes in a lovely package just ready for gift giving for a special mom in your life.
The Latest Tech. The thing with the baby industry is that it is changing all the time, so while an experienced mama may be fully outfitted with gear, she may be missing out on the latest innovations. Spoil her with something brand new like the Parent + Baby SmartBand, the first smartband made specifically for parents.
Meal Subscriptions. A meal subscription like, Blue Apron, is perfect for new parents. You can still make delicious meals, but the list making, shopping and some of the food prep is done for you. It can also be perfect for a household where mom usually does the cooking and dad needs to take over. These subscriptions really take the guesswork out of cooking.
Disposables. Look, a brand new mom may be all about the adorable baby clothes and blankets at her baby shower, but an experienced mom knows what’s up. She’ll greatly appreciate being well-stocked in diapers and wipes. Make sure you check with her which brand she prefers as she likely has a favorite at this stage of the game. You can also look into starting up a diaper subscription service like the one offered by The Honest Company—the adorable diaper prints (as seen below) don’t hurt either!
Cozy Robe. There are things you think you don’t need the first time around, or you have so much to buy that you skip some of the luxuries, like a super soft robe to wear at the hospital. However, once a mom has experienced a hospital gown, it’s likely she’ll appreciate being spoiled with something extra cozy for her hospital stay and to keep warm for night feedings after.
Gender Specific Clothing. If a mom is expecting a little boy after two girls or vice versa, this is the time that an experienced mom will appreciate the gift of clothes. Sure, many newborn items are inherently gender neutral, but having a few new things for the new little one that is all boy or all girl is sure to please mom.
A Massage. Handling a newborn is tough, but handling a newborn while juggling the needs of the rest of your kids is exhausting. The days of sleeping when the baby is asleep are over because you have a toddler to attend to or a kid to shuttle off to school. Get a new mom a gift card for a massage, spa treatment or basically anything that gives her an excuse to take a break and pamper herself.
Let us know, what’s your favorite gift that you have given to a second-time mom or have received yourself?
